There's a new goalie prowling the crease at Compuware Arena these days, and early scouting reports have confirmed he's somewhat of a...well...hot dog. Literally. Leo the Hot Dog, taking a break from his long-standing gig at Leo's Coney Island on Ann Arbor Rd. west of Haggerty in Plymouth, has been stopping some hot shots between the second and third periods at Whalers games.
"He's tough" said one 6 year-old Super Score-O contestant. "I deke left, he goes left, it's like he's got radar. But I finally figured out I could go five hole along the ice - he's gonna stop you with his bun otherwise."
Another contestant concurs. "Going up against a hot dog like him is a real distraction. He made me really hungry."
All the pint-size contestants in Score-O are winners and have a lot of fun, as do their parents and the fans. Get out to Compuware Arena, and see the action for yourself, and after the game, get some real hot dogs and other great food at Leo's Coney Island on Ann Arbor Rd., including 24 hours on Thursday-Saturday.
